This
book is the catalog of the exhibition in Milan (Triennale Design Museum,
September 25-October 26 2008). The exhibition pays tribute to Ettore Sottsass
from a new point of view: the historical journal "Terrace" which he designed
and built with Barbara Radice, Christoph Radl, Anna Wagner and Santi Caleca.
Terrace took into account architecture and design with a focus on contemporary,
enlarging the look at the international scene and observing from a wide
variety of disciplines, from literature to poetry, from history to science,
philosophy, art, and anthropology. Since 1988, the year of the first issue,
until 1996, with the press, 13, the magazine has expressed its willingness
to Sottsass to produce a refined instrument of the highest quality, with
the best choice of graphics, pictures, cover and paper. On display are
the first ten numbers, plus the three numbers whose monographs have a different
look and feel and image of the drafting work.
