book is the catalog of the exhibition in Rome (Museo Nazionale di Castel
Sant'Angelo, from July 11 to November 9 2008). The
review aims to document, with about eighty artworks, the chronological
arc that runs from the second century BC until the Age of Enlightenment,
during which Egyptian history becomes myth. From
the most prestigious collections (Capitoline Museums, Vatican Museum, National
Archaeological Museum of Naples, Louvre, the Pergamon Museum ...), works
selected by a committee of great esteem illustrate in
