A much-awaited study of the brief but intense creative life of a pioneering and very brilliant 20th-Century designer who died prematurely at the age of 38.

In conjunction with the individual exhibition on the internationally-renowned designer's father, Giacomo, the GAMeC in Bergamo has organised an exhibition exploring Pio Manzù's creative journey (1939-1969). Thanks to his personal archive, his entire body of work has been included for the first time. Although the designer had only a very brief career, he touched on an array of disciplines, from design, to photography and editorial graphics.

Various themes are considered and his work is situated in relation to other designers and artists from around the world. His automobile design work, which earned him international acclaim and a host of awards, is of central importance. Designs, plans, photos, miniatures of the Fiat 127 and tractors, and shelved designs for Autonova, taxis and buses.
