Lucien Freud is often described as Britain's greatest living figurative painter. His achievement was recognised in the retrospective held at the Tate in London in 2002 which was seen by more people than any other show there of a living artist.

This publication comprises his paintings, works on paper and etchings from the last 60 years, some of which completed as recently as this year, as well as photographs of the artist himself. It is the most up to date retrospective touching not only on Freud’s most renowned themes: portraits and nudes of family, friends, lovers and fellow artists but also of his self portraits, and environment paintings. It not only reveals paintings but also a large selection of his drawings and etchings.
