Cecil King (1921-1986) is one of Ireland's most distinguished artists. A self-taught painter, he is known for his distinctive hard-edged minimalist style which he developed in the late 1960s. A committed modernist, he was a founding member of the Rosc exhibitions which were so instrumental in bringing avant-garde ideas to Ireland.
