This textbook discusses the issues of terrorism. This includes the problems of definition, legal policy issues facing governments, the nature of violence, the role of counter-terrorist groups, terrorist case studies and current manifestations of the problem and the potential for the future, including drugs related terrorism and the threat posed by nuclear terrorism. The book is intended primarily for students taking social science degrees at university at under-graduate or post-graduate level, but following the Outrage in the USA on Sept 11, 2001, it is a book that is an essential read for the informed citizen.
