Philip Clarke was born in Norfolk and educated at Worksop College. Up until 1969 he ran the family farm and now lives in Syderstone near Kings Lynn. Philip Clarke was Head Gardener at Wolterton Hall, the seat of the Walpole family near Norwich. Philip Clarke was a founding member and president of the West Norfolk Organic Group. He is also a committee member for several ecological and organic groups. Philip Clarke lectures on organic gardening and has featured in Amateur Gardening Magazine, Eastern Daily Press, Country Garden and Smallholding and The Jewish Vegetarian.
