About the author:
Julian Fane published his first widely acclaimed novel Morning in 1956. Hailed as a masterpiece, Morning is now in its 8th edition; Tales of Love and War is his twenty-second book. A reviewer for the Times Literary Supplement, Julian Fane was elected as a Fellow of the Royal Society of Literature in 1974. He lives in Lewes, East Sussex with his wife.
