Here is the first serious biography of Beck Hansen, telling the full story and delving into the mythology that already surrounds him. Included are 12 black and white photographs. The book was written during the recording of Beck's 6th album (Midnite Vultures) and it explores the many influences on his music and philosophy through interviews with those close to him. Beck's life story is traced as the wayward son of a bluegrass musician and a one-time Warhol starlet. He grew up in Los Angeles, with long stays in the bible-belt of Kansas, and was greatly influenced by his grandfather, one of the leaders of the avant-garde movement Fluxus. Beck single Loser caught the attention of David Geffen and catapulted him to stardom.
